Biography
Brad Causey was born in Palo Alto, California in 1959. He grew up in California, Alabama, Kentucky and Missouri. He has traveled extensively throughout the contiguous United States, as well as Mexico and Canada. He attended public schools in Alabama, Kentucky and Missouri. He graduated from David H. Hickman High School in Columbia, MO in 1977.
He attended Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma, graduating with a bachelor's degree in Business Management in 1981. His other course work consisted of History and Political Science. His business experience includes life insurance and annuity sales, restaurant and retail management, construction, radio broadcasting, sporting goods, rental real estate, and managing partner of an automotive repair facility. His political experience includes precinct chairman, volunteer campaign worker for local, state, and national candidates, paid political staffer for the Mayor of Tulsa, and, of course, voting!
In 1989 he moved to the Nashville, Tennessee area. He earned a master's degree in Educational Administration in 1996 from Tennessee State University. He is a certified teacher at the secondary level in Accounting, Business, Government, Political Science, Economics and History. His students won the Tennessee state championship in the Economic Challenge in 2007, 2008 and again in 2009. Mr. Causey wrote the Advanced Placement curriculum for Micro Economics, Macro Economics, United States Government and Comparative Government, for Sycamore High School in Pleasant View, TN. He currently teaches there and serves as Social Studies department chairman. His current businesses include rental real estate management and the sale and export of historical and modern firearms.
